Primary School Learning Mentor:

Location:

East of England, Cambridgeshire, Histon

Job Type:

Permanent, expected to work Monday - Friday

Salary:

£77 - £97 Per day

Benefits:

£50 referral bonus

Job Duties:

Provide individual and group support to primary school students
Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans
Help students improve their academic performance and achieve their educational goals
Support students in developing social and emotional skills
Collaborate with teachers and parents to address student needs
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
Organise and facilitate educational workshops and activities
Supervise students during break times and extracurricular activities
Provide guidance and support to students facing academic or behavioural challenges
Contribute to the overall positive and inclusive school environment

Required Qualifications:

Relevant experience working with primary schoolaged children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students
Good organisational and time management abilities
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Possess knowledge of primary school curriculum and educational frameworks
Experience in delivering targeted interventions and support programmes
Awareness of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
Proficient in using technology for educational purposes
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education qualification related to education or child development
Additional training or certification in mentoring or counselling
Experience working in a similar role within a primary school setting

Working Conditions:

Work primarily within a primary school environment
Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
May involve occasional evening or weekend work for special events
Adherence to school policies and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
