Primary School Learning Mentor:


Location:

East of England, Cambridgeshire, Histon


Job Type:

Permanent, expected to work Monday - Friday


Salary:

£77 - £97 Per day


Benefits:

£50 referral bonus


Job Duties:


  • Provide individual and group support to primary school students
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans
  • Help students improve their academic performance and achieve their educational goals
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to address student needs
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
  • Organise and facilitate educational workshops and activities
  • Supervise students during break times and extracurricular activities
  • Provide guidance and support to students facing academic or behavioural challenges
  • Contribute to the overall positive and inclusive school environment

Required Qualifications:


  • Relevant experience working with primary schoolaged children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students
  • Good organisational and time management abilities
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:


  • Possess knowledge of primary school curriculum and educational frameworks
  • Experience in delivering targeted interventions and support programmes
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
  • Proficient in using technology for educational purposes
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Higher education qualification related to education or child development
  • Additional training or certification in mentoring or counselling
  • Experience working in a similar role within a primary school setting

Working Conditions:


  • Work primarily within a primary school environment
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
  • May involve occasional evening or weekend work for special events
  • Adherence to school policies and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
