Due to continued business growth, my Legal Sector Client requires an Assistant Accountant to join their Manchester Team. You will ideally be either AAT Qualified or working towards ACCA.

  • Directly supporting the Finance Manager in the running the daytoday operations and processes of the department.
  • Assisting with the month end management accounts closure
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations, monitoring bank reconciliations, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Fixed assets and depreciation accounting
  • Posting of journals (accruals, prepayments, etc)
  • Management of midhighlevel queries that come into the department from fee earners and clients.
  • Preparation of reconciliations and reporting for the Senior finance team as requested
  • Posting and approving transactions on the finance system.
  • Approving payments for fee earners and reconciling to the finance system
  • Support with Systems and process improvement projects
  • Supporting with regular audit preparations

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a similar position as an Assistant Accountant with exposure to month end management accounting and reporting
  • Ideally previous experience within the Legal Sector i
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work towards strict time frames
  • Be AAT qualified or part ACCA/ CIMA qualified and keen to continue with study
  • Excellent computerized system skills with advanced Excel abilities
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to communicate with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical ability
