The role will have expectations measured by: a. Personal productivity to agreed performance standards to ensure that all customers are provided with the best advice and solution b. Meeting forecasts and budgets for the supply of NHS hearing systems c. Compliance with professional and clinical standards d.

Service user satisfaction levels (including customers and GPs) e.

Monitoring of NHS contract performance areas such as timely hearing aid fitting, provision of rehabilitation advice and completion of aftercare f.

Working with Branch Managers to ensure all NHS income streams are realised.


PROFESSIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To work under the direction and control of your Line Manager to the required standards At all times to comply with: RCCP or HCPC standards as appropriate BSA recommended procedures (BSA procedure guide)

BAA guidelines NICE Guidelines Company guidelines (Company Handbook) Company administration procedures All other company procedures and guidelines informed to you throughout your employment Local NHS hearing CCG contract requirements To demonstrate an ability to reflect on own practice and to identify own strengths and development needs To be responsible for own professional actions and to recognise own professional boundaries and when to seek advice from others To liaise with branch managers to ensure the NHS hearing business is successful and to motivate and train branch staff to:
a)

Book hearing screening checks b) Deal with all NHS enquiries c) Handle all NHS user and service call enquiries / requests d) Maintain an effective appointment diary e) Complete any administration required To undertake NHS consultations with customers at Scrivens branches, medical centres or any other premises as required To deal with any concerns or complaints sensitively and in a timely manner to avoid escalation To attend relevant training and development courses in order to maintain and expand skills and knowledge appropriate to your scope of practice whilst ensuring compliance with CPD requirements To be responsible for maintaining your CPD records in a form acceptable to the HCPC / RCCP Where required, to supervise the work of, and offer guidance and advice to, other Scrivens personnel on all aspects of hearing aid dispensing and branch work To be professionally dressed at all times CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES To assess customers' hearing and provide best advice in accordance with:

Company and BSA recommended procedures BAA guidelines Relevant HCPC / RCCP Standards Any other pertinent standards that may be introduced from time to time o To carry out a case history o To conduct otoscopy o To carry out routine Puretone Air Conduction and Bone Conduction Audiometry including masking as required To take aural impressions and depending on the degree and type of hearing loss and dexterity, select ear moulds To select and programme / fit appropriate hearing instruments including the use of REM fitting.
