Contextual Safeguarding Co-ordinator:


The Contextual Safeguarding Co-ordinator role is now being advertised as a permanent post within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably skilled and experienced practitioner who is confident working with multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes for children at risk of extra-familial harm.

You will co-ordinate the work of the contextualised safeguarding hub, ensuring that all agreed actions are completed in a timely fashion and that allocated interventions are delivered.


In addition, you will provide advice, support and consultation to front line team managers and social workers, partner agencies and external service providers in relation to extra familial harm as well as supporting the quality assurance process.

You will need to work closely with partner agencies and in particularly the Child Exploitation Co-Ordinator within Cheshire Police.

You will chair mapping meetings to ensure that the partnership has a clear understanding of issues relating to county lines, serious crime and all forms of exploitation.

You will also be expected to develop links with neighbouring authorities to ensure a co-ordinated response when issues cross borders.


The post holder will need to:


  • Hold a recognised social care qualification:
- **Have extensive knowledge of legislation and guidance in relation to extra
- familial harm and contextual safeguarding**:


  • Have experience of working with commissioners and providers and a clear understanding of need-led interventions:

Be able to evidence an ability to work in a multi-agency environment:


  • Be able to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels
