This is an exciting opportunity to work with a renowned hospitality business as a Part-time Accountant supporting the finance team with general bookkeeping and financial administration based around their numerous events.
This is a part-time role, 3 daysa week and hybrid.Client Details
The client are renowned hospitality business based in the City of London, managing an historical building, hosting weddings, banquets and private dinners.
Description
The Part-time Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare reports on Events for the Finance and General Purposes Committee to include preparation of budgets, and comparisons of actual income and expenditure against budget with explanation of variances
- Ensure regular stock takes are carried out by the Events team and any differences reconciled
- Analyse event costs and resolve any discrepancies
- Reconcile online bookings, electronic receipts for ticket sales etc and take card payments via electronic portal
- Maintain records of events held during the year to enable the annual calculation of the partial recovery rate of VAT
- Assist the Finance Assistant (responsible for purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, banking and petty cash) with complex finance queries
- Provide sickness and holiday cover for the Finance Assistant and Finance team
- Ensure the financial policies and procedure manual is up to date and any changes to financial procedures are documented
- Maintain records and reconcile expenditure on the Major Works programme, in consultation with the Hall Manager
- Assist with any ad hoc activities as required by the Chief Accountant
Profile
The successful Part-time Accountant:
- Part qualified
- Understanding of accountancy processes within hospitality sector
- Previous experiences managing stock reconciliations
- Knowledge of Sales & Purchase ledger
- SAGE (200 preferable)
Job Offer
The successful Part-time Accountant will be entitled to the competitive salary of £43,000 - £45,000 FTE depending on experience along with these other benefits:
