Job Profile:
We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for Maintenance and Monitoring of the Quality Management System. This includes the assessment of Non-Conformance - CAPA as well tracking of defined actions and effectiveness checks.

In addition, you will also lead Change Management, Document control, Training and quality projects as well as performing routine work such as product release, monitoring of storage conditions and redress activities.


In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Ensuring annual training mapping exercises are performed for all roles within Alcon UK, including Operational Manager review of role-based training requirements.
  • Ensuring a master role to training requirement matrix (master training matrix), is established and maintained, including requirements assigned at site, function, job role, or training role level.
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts from across all Alcon UK functions to support the continuous improvement of training course development and delivery including the scheduling and facilitation of instructorled training.
  • Maintaining records, in accordance with Good Documentation Practices and ALCOA+ principles, compliant with Alcon's Global Training Procedure, for the creation, assignment and amendment of training curricula.
  • Assigning training items to associates in line with role defined requirements in accordance with the master training matrix.
  • Monitoring and reporting of metrics related to the effective implementation of the Alcon UK Training Program.
  • Overseeing all administration related to new starters including but not necessarily limited to: GRC (SAP Access) requests, training record documentation generation and Plateau administration (training portal for SAP training).
  • Completing assigned activities within SAP IRIS as directed by the Head of Quality UK.
  • Completion of Nonconformance / DCT records within TrackWise ACE in time with procedurally defined timelines, including the followup of actions and effectiveness checks.

What you'll bring to Alcon:

  • Experience working in a Quality role (preferably within the Medical Device industry but not essential)
