Description

We are seeking to appoint a substantive full-time (10 PA) consultant in sexual health and HIV at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation trust.

The sexual health service at Kingston (The Wolverton Centre) prides itself on being a modern and progressive service, providing high quality care for patients presenting with STI and SRH needs, as well as patients living with HIV.

The Wolverton Centre provides level 3 sexual health services via a combination of integrated sexual health clinics, complex (consultant led) clinics, and nurse led clinics.

Complex GUM, genital dermatology and the management of vulnerable patients are managed from within the integrated sexual health service.

In addition, the service has psychology support, a well-developed vulval pain/psychosexual clinic and provides HIV care for a cohort of 450 patients living with HIV.

In 2018 the department moved to a bespoke paperless system.

There will, furthermore, be an opportunity to undertake a weekly specialist vulval pain clinic if the successful applicant has an interest in this area, as well as participation in LARC procedure clinics.

The post holder will join the friendly and motivated medical team of 3 consultants, 3 SAS doctors and rotational training doctors including IMT, GPVTS, F2 and ST3+ trainees in Reproductive sexual health and GUM.

They will work closely with the nursing team led by a Matron with B7/6/5 nurses who independently run integrated clinics.

All clinics are supported by B3/2 technicians and in addition the HIV service is supported by an HIV specialist pharmacist and HIV CNS.
