Our Newport based client requires an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team for a 12 month fixed term contract.


This position is a hands-on role working alongside another HR Advisor - each having responsibility for HR operations for specific areas of the business.

Reporting to an experienced and supportive Senior HR Business Partner and HR Manager, this opportunity is ideal for someone who already has proven HR experience and is keen to gain further experience in the UK entity of a global business, who understands that people and HR are pivotal in its continued success.


As HR Advisor your role will involve developing strong working relationships with the managers and employees, assisting and providing advice and support where required.

This is a "hands on" role, with a busy HR function and as a result you will be actively involved in all aspects of the day-to-day HR function.

The role is office based and is offered on a 12 month fixed term basis with potential for extension.

The job

  • Provision of day to day HR advice, support and practical guidance to line managers, for Newport and other UK offices.
  • Input and Maintenance of the Time and Attendance and HR Systems
  • Coordination of, and Input into, the UK's payroll system
  • Maintaining HR system for site, and position management changes
  • Ensuring an endtoend process for onboarding for all employees is in evidence and fully documented, paying particular attention to all required new starter paperwork.
  • Preparation of Terms & Conditions of Employment for shop floor employees
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date job descriptions
  • Conducting exit interviews for leavers
  • Absence Management Controls liaising with all Departmental heads and the Occupational Health Department, to review and evaluate relevant action
  • Regular meetings with Departmental managers to discuss holidays/recruitment/current issues
  • Assisting with disciplinary interviews up to and including Supervisor level
  • Monthly reports for departmental managers (Absence/Headcount Analysis)
  • Responding to internal and external SOX auditors for HR and Payroll related information
  • Liaising and working with external organisations to ensure legal compliance
  • Undertake and participate in HR Projects when required
  • Delivery of HR workshops for line managers
  • Participation in HR audits where required

The person specification

  • Will ideally be CIPD qualified to level
  • Generalist HR experience.
  • Will be computer literate and have demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office software and online systems
  • Demonstrable experience of building positive and strong working relationships, rapport with stakeholders of all levels (Director/Employee)
  • Will have strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Will have meticulous attention to detail imperative as is the ability to work to strict deadlines

  • Salary up to £35,000 per annum
