Main Responsibilities:

v To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged from birth to 5 years.

v To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others.

v To develop effective partnerships with parents/carers and to increase their involvement in their child's development.

Main Duties:

To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.

To be responsible for your room and outdoors, including:
Care of Children - all aspects of Health, Safety and Welfare.

Planning and Development - using the Pre-Birth to Three and Curriculum for Excellence and to work with the East Lothian Council if applicable.

Staffing - supervising supporting and encouraging staff working in your room and outdoors.

Communication - communicating with the Nursery Manager and parents/carers on a regular basis.

To work with parents/carers and other professionals for the benefit of the children.

To effectively fulfil the role of a key person.

To understand and follow the Pre-Birth to Three, Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and any other practice informed documents.

To maintain confidentiality about all issues related to children and their families, your own and other staff member's issues.

To maintain personal development records.

To work in partnership with the Nursery Manager to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.

Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
£10.50-£11.15 per hour
