Physical Education (PE) Cover Supervisor
Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Through-school

Based within the Secondary department.

Ongoing temporary role to cover permanent staff member


Unique School Solutions are supporting a through-school (2-16 years) in the Sheffield area to appoint a Cover Supervisor to work in the PE Faculty within the Secondary phase.


Essential requirements for the role:


  • PE / Sports curriculum knowledge
  • Experience working with children and/or young people.
  • The ability to confidently lead engaging PE lessons and coaching sessions

Duties of the role include:


  • Deliver preplanned lessons and coaching sessions in the PE faculty.
  • Deliver a range of sports and physical activities to students of different ages, abilities and learning styles.
  • Ensure students meet the learning objectives and are on task.
  • Motivate and inspire students to fulfil their full potential.
  • Talk to parents/carers about their children's progress when required.
  • Work with the wider school team including Teachers, Heads of Years, Pastoral Support Team, and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Attend sports days, trips, and matches with other schools.
  • Use own initiative when covering lessons.
  • Work effectively with others such as support staff and other PE faculty staff members.
  • Be patient and can remain calm when in stressful situations.
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour, disruption, and challenging scenarios
  • Use computer and main software packages competently.
