About the role


The Small Works Handyperson/Decorator is a versatile and skilled professional responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and decoration tasks on small-scale building services projects.

This role requires a combination of practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure the functionality and aesthetic appeal of buildings.


What you'll be doing

  • Carpentry and Joinery: Perform minor carpentry and joinery tasks, such as repairing or replacing doors, windows, cabinets, and hardware. Install shelves, picture frames, and other decorative elements.
  • Plumbing and

Electrical Assistance:
Assist plumbers and electricians with small-scale plumbing and electrical work, such as changing faucets, outlets, and light fixtures. Ensure compliance with safety and code requirements.

  • Fixture and

Furniture Assembly:
Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and appliances as needed. Ensure proper alignment, stability, and functionality.

  • Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the wellbeing of all occupants and team members.
  • Client Interaction: Interact professionally with clients, tenants, and other stakeholders. Address service requests promptly and provide excellent customer service.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of maintenance and repair tasks, including materials used and work performed. Provide reports and updates to supervisors as required.

What we're looking for

  • City & Guilds Painting & Decorating 670
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical & carpentry.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, decoration, or a related field, preferably in a building services or facilities management setting.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Please be aware that this role involves a lot of physical work, manual handling as well as being on your feet for long periods of time.
