As Deputy Team Manager in Intermediate Care Southwark, you will provide a management function in our fast-paced Intermediate Care team, working closely with service users and a range of professionals across Social Care, Health, Housing, and the voluntary sector.

You will be responsible for setting the standard and supervising the work of qualified and non-professionally qualified staff.
The post holder covers day to day management of the team using specialist knowledge and skills relating to:

  • Embedding a Strength Based Approach
  • Mental Capacity and Best Interest
  • Safeguarding and DoLS
  • Resources, procedures and service development
  • Performance Management

You would work on a ROTA BASIS with other deputy team managers covering the Duty manager role in the office at 132 Queens Roach, Peckham, London SE15 and Elm Court, Norwood Road, SE27.

This is not an exclusive working from home role and we require attendance in the office approx. 3 days out of 5.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities:


  • The post is responsible to the Team Manager with the Deputy Team Manager a core member of the social work team responsible for delivering of Reablement function for the people of Southwark.
  • The post holder is responsible for the management and oversight of Safeguarding adult cases and investigations including the chairing of safeguarding meetings.
  • The post holder has responsibility in relation to developing and co-ordinating approaches to enable the delivery of services in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Southwark council is committed to supporting vulnerable adults to achieve independence and social inclusion using a strengths based approach. The postholder is expected to provide a proactive approach which encompasses these goals and sets out to achievethese aims.
  • The postholder will have formal supervisory responsibilities and will offer guidance to new members of staff joining the service.

JOB CONTEXT
The posts are in Adult Social Care and report directly to the Team Manager.
