About the Employer


I am the employer and mother to my daughter who has been allocated a direct payment to support her with social activities and independence skills.

My Daughter has a diagnosis, Autism OCD, Severe Learning difficulties and is nonverbal.

She is however able to communicate through gestures, and guiding others to communicate what she wants, likes or wishes to do.


The PA support may require her to be collected from school or her home address depending on the day and times of sessions.

We are seeking a casual PA to join our other PA's, to provide my daughter with the support she requires when accessing social activities and to help develop and promote her independence and life skills.

The hours are flexible and may vary from week to week depending on staff availability and activity identified.

My daughter is quite sociable and enjoys 1-1 attention and the companionship of others.

She enjoys being out and about, shopping, going to café's, going for walks and generally most activities associated to her age.

She likes being in the company of others and The PA I am seeking is someone who has understanding and patience with good communication skills.

We are looking to find someone who is proactive in identifying activities associated with her interests and likes.


My daughter can use public transport, so a car driver is not essential for the role We are seeking someone to assist and support in my daughter in her chosen activities such as: - Going for walks Going to Parks.

Going to café's/going for meals Going shopping Someone to identify suitable social activities and events. someone to offer support and to encourage social opportunities. someone to promote opportunities to help my daughter to develop friendships with others. Someone to promote and encourage independence and life skills. Companionship/Friendship

My daughters' needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
  • Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.


Transport Requirement
Car driver preferred but not essential.

  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
  • Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
  • Be selfmotivated with a willingness to get involved.
  • Have a lively personality.

Job Type:

Salary:
£12.45 per hour
