Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Specialist Teacher for SpLD (Dyslexia) to work in Cramlington.

This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £254.54 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company).


The role:


To provide support and advice to colleagues on issues related to teaching pupils with specific literacy and numeracy difficulties within educational settings and direct teaching consistent with the main duties and responsibilities of the post.

The SpecificLearning Difficulties Teacher will work as a member of the multi-professional team to promote inclusion of pupils with SpLD needs.

The role is peripatetic with an office base in Cramlington.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supporting the aims and ethos of the Northumberland Inclusive Education Services.
  • Supporting the inclusion of pupils with specific literacy and numeracy needs (dyslexia and dyscalculia).
  • Supporting schools to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn and how this impacts on teaching children with literacy and numeracy needs.
  • Encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
  • Supporting the development of whole school approaches in the creation of literacy and numeracy supportive environments.
  • Raising awareness within educational settings of the additional needs of pupils with specific learning difficulties and appropriate evidencedbased interventions to support them.
  • Providing training, where appropriate, to staff including Headteachers, SENCos, teachers and other support staff to enable them to successfully include pupils with literacy and numeracy needs and implement aspects of a pupil's individual programme.
  • Plan and teach individual pupils, groups of pupils and whole classes in educational settings in matters relating to literacy and numeracy needs.
  • Support educational settings to adapt teaching to respond to strengths and needs of all pupils.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:Teaching qualification (qualified teacher status) and Honours Degree.

Experience:Extensive and relevant experience of working with pupils who have SpLD (literacy and numeracy needs) in a mainstream setting.

Compliance:Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.

Travel:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours:37.5 hours p/w.
