YOUTH WORKER


ECHO is looking for a special person who wants to grow their experience whilst providing safe and engaging activities for young people.

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours, including breaks. This role requires flexibility, and there will be a requirement for some evening and weekend work


SALARY:
£24,000 - £26,500 depending on experience (Equivalent NHS band 4)


PLACE OF WORK:
ECHO office, SE1 7LL includes hospital and community-based


RESPONSIBLE TO:
Lead Youth Worker


TYPE OF CONTRACT:
Contract 36 months


BENEFITS INCLUDE 25 day's annual leave, increasing to 28 for length in service, winter shopping day off, a workplace pension, and flexible working.

INTERVIEWS:
26th PM zoom with young people 28th between 9-5pm panel.


Working with children and young people with heart conditions as well as their siblings and families. Delivering, co-delivering, and developing support services for these children and young people and their siblings. Predominantly working with 11-25 year olds but some work will focus with the younger bracket of 8-11 years. Working both in the Guys & St Thomas NHS trust including the Evelina London and its network hospitals, and in the community.

  • Use your background, training, or life experience to make an impact on the young people we work with?
  • See the world from a young person's perspective?
  • Create meaningful resources or events focusing on mental health, wellbeing, physical activity, sport, and medical transition from children's healthcare to adult services?
  • Communicate with our team, volunteers, medical professionals, children, young people, and parents/carers in a conscientious and inclusive way?
  • Develop and create ways to engage with young people, from designing a poster to interacting on social media?
