Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years' experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person.
IBK are currently supporting a young man in S11 to re-build his confidence back up in his everyday life. The young man is in his late 20's and has a diagnosis of Autism and a learning difficulty.

He previously lived independently in his own flat, but due to some struggles with mental health he is currently living back at the family home.

Being a PA will involve joining his small team in providing support while he does the activities he enjoys such as:

  • Playing on the X Box
  • Minecraft
  • Jigsaws
  • Going to the cinema
  • Live music
  • Cooking
  • Games
He is also a talented magician who has previously put on his own shows


The perfect PA will have a calm and mature outlook and will have the skills to support this gent with practical day to day tasks.

They will have some experience of mental health and autism and will share some of the interests that this gent has.

The ideal PA will also take a flexible approach to working patterns which may change to overnight support once the gent is living independently again in the future.


Hours
15 hours per week initially ideally split over 2 days at the latter end of the week. Wednesdays and Fridays would be ideal.


Once the gentleman is moving back into his own accommodation, the hours may change and may be used for some overnight support once per week as well as some daytime hours.


Person Specification:


Essential

  • Willing to learn from the gentleman, his Mum and any other key people in his life.
  • Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience of mental health and autism
  • Have a mature outlook

Desirable

  • Shared interests with the gent
  • Flexible approach to working

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
£11.58 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
