Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an Obstetric Consultant for a fixed term of 2 years to develop and lead an Abnormally Invasive Placenta Service for 2.5PA per week.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team at our Birmingham Women's Hospital site which births over 8,000 women per year.

We are looking for someone who is Ambitious, Brave and Compassionate and with a commitment to continually improve our services, which have just been rated green by the CQC.


This postholder will be part of the Obstetric service, working closely with colleagues in the direct team and across the maternity network.


1 day a week at Birmingham Women's Hospital:
Scanning patients referred for AIP

Leading MDT meetings to discuss diagnosis, management and birth plan

Working closely with Obstetric Radiology

Reviewing USS and MRI scan images

Develop a sustainable scanning and surgical team through hands on teaching and training

This post is advertised as a 2.5 PA fixed term for 2 years.

The post holder is required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice medicine at this level.
