Role Overview


We're on the cusp of our next big leap and this is an exciting opportunity to have significant influence on the continual excellence of our Health and Safety performance.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in upholding and promoting high standards in Health, Safety, Security & Wellbeing across multiple projects, supporting Health & Safety Managers and the wider team.


Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Strategy Delivery

  • Understand and support the implementation of our Health and Safety strategy and assist project teams in implementing actions defined in the strategy.
Team Support

  • Recognise opportunities for improvement and develop robust health and safety procedures, guidance, and supporting documentation. Maintain an open diary for effective team coordination and record attendance at work sites using company systems.
Accident & Incident Management

  • Support project teams in investigating accidents and nearmiss incidents. Coach project teams in developing competence in accident investigation. Analyse incidents & accidents, making recommendations for improvement.
Project & Site Management

  • Conduct health and safety inspections, preparing reports that identify areas of good practice and compliance.
  • Review all aspects of compliance, including the suitability of records maintained by project teams. Immediately report situations requiring immediate rectification or stopping of any operation. Identify the need for Health surveillance/Safety Critical medicals during routine inspections.
  • Bring new techniques for improving health, safety, and welfare to the attention of the Senior Health & Safety Manager.
  • Highlight areas where training certification is required, bringing findings to the attention of the project team.
Wellbeing Development

  • Identify wellbeing initiatives and make suggestions for campaign material.
Data & Observations

  • Analyse leading and lagging performance indicators, suggesting areas for improvement and reporting findings to the Senior Health and Safety Manager. Provide monthly reports using the provided format.

About You


We are looking for an organised, collaborative, Health and Safety Advisor that can deliver and maintain standards without exception but is also amenable and engaged with teams.

You will be passionate about delivering and promoting a positive, progressive culture with a cognitive, and inspirational approach to health & safety.


Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction, civil engineering, property, or utilities.
  • Awareness of the IOSH Code of Conduct and ability to conduct professional duties in line with the code.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Curiosity and ability to test ideas, systems, processes, and records to ensure compliance.
  • Good presentation and report writing skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations.

Desired skills but not essential:

  • NEBOSH/NCRQ certificate (or equivalent) and hold or be working towards GradIOSH.
  • IOSH membership and participation in continual professional development.
