About the project:


The Beckton Depot Upgrade project is an £88m, two year multi-disciplinary project to expand the existing Docklands Light Railway Depot at Beckton to accommodate their expansion of rolling stock.

The project involves the construction of a new Maintenance Facility Building where the new trains will be brought into use, several stabling facilities and a Temporary Fit Out Shed to accommodate the first trains that arrive.


The works will involve ground remediation as it is located on a former gasworks, heavy civils, buildings, rail systems and mechanical and electrical works.


What will you

be doing?:

Provide accurate and timely accounts documentation within the timetable of the project accounts process.

Support, assist and process finance operations ensuring sensitivity and confidentiality when dealing with any queries or issues:

Maintain good working relations with suppliers and colleagues and conduct ourselves in a highly professional manner when communicating with suppliers and partners at 'all times'

Capture, analyse and process costs effectively thus producing information and

data, quickly, accurately and on time ensuring targets are met

Complete invoice scanning

Manage invoice batching

Create, maintain, file and archive finance records

Assist in supplier accounts maintenance and invoice queries

Assist in payment run process

Investigate and answer routine queries arising from customers, colleagues and suppliers

Manage the upkeep of finance registers and schedules

Manage statement reconciliations

Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the projects processes and procedures and ensure that these procedures are upheld and adhered to

Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure the reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner

Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy

Ensure financial targets and deadlines are met

Help, assist and support colleagues to the benefit of the wider finance team

Any other duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounts function


What qualifications

do I require?:

Five GCSE's grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math's, English and a Science or Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Ability to travel to remote locations.

Ideally some exposure to a construction/ engineering environment.
