(Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm)

West Yorkshire Windows is an industry renowned installer of high-quality windows, doors and conservatory products across Yorkshire.


Following unprecedented growth, we are recruiting a Yard Operative (preferably with a FLT Counterbalance licence, but not essential) to support the warehouse operative in the day-to-day management of stock, preparing old windows for recycling and assistingour building manager on site with test digs.

You will be working predominately outside in our yard.
You will be highly motivated, with a "can-do" approach, enthusiastic and committed.

You will know what it takes to achieve targets - and you will have the motivation to get results.
This correct person in this role will have the ability to advance within the company.
The company will seek to train the individual with a FLT licence.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm dependent on the needs of the business.


Role Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the recycling of used window and door frames and ensure the yard is maintained to a high standard at all times.
This will include glass handling and liaising with the recycling company.

  • To assist the building manager 1 day per week to visit site to dig a test dig hole to allow accurate foundation design to be undertaken.
  • To check deliveries and assist moving products into the warehouse.
  • Working outside in a yard environment loading and unloading lorries;
  • To stack goods in the correct location bays;
  • To be responsible for the recycling of rubbish.
  • To work with various machines, including, counterbalance trucks, side loading trucks and pallet lifting equipment;

Person Attributes

  • A Counterbalance license is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail with great organisational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues, managers, and suppliers.
  • Good problemsolving skills with the ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team player who can work on own initiative with a cando attitude with effective time management;
  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge;
  • A willingness to undertake further training with the ability to implement learning into your daily work.
