Data Protection Officer - ManchesterThe Role
Primarily responsible for the firms compliance with data protection and privacy law
Maintaining data protection, information security and cyber security policies;
Maintaining the firm's information asset register and records of processing;
Acting as the internal expert on DP assisting compliance analysts with routine queries and handling more complex queries;
Handling data requests
Working with the IT department, particularly the cyber team, to monitor the effectiveness of the firm's information and cyber security controls;
Working with all departments to identify emerging and current risks and devising and implementing a plan to mitigate the risks;
Reviewing commercial agreements from a data protection perspective;
Writing and delivering training courses and guidance to all departments;
Research and technical advice on data protection and privacy law.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar data protection role
Experience of working in a law firm would be an advantage but is not essential
