- Drive the growth and innovation of our coastal and marine business by identifying new market opportunities, client sectors, and technical solutions.
- Lead client engagements, build and maintain senior client relationships with government agencies, port authorities, developers, contractors, and international multinationals.
- Develop and lead proposal teams to deliver successful tenders and frameworks.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and position the business accordingly to drive growth and profitability.
- Serve as the technical lead for major coastal and marine civil engineering projects from feasibility to completion.
- Provide expert oversight of hydrodynamic modelling, wave-structure interaction analyses, overtopping and scour assessments, sediment transport, beach and foreshore works, harbour and breakwater design.
- Ensure projects adhere to relevant UK and international design standards and guidance, and meet client and industry quality assurance requirements.
- Review and mentor technical staff on project deliverables, including reports, drawings, models, and specifications.
- Drive innovation in modelling methods, software tools, and best practice approaches.
- Oversee risk management on coastal and marine projects, including geotechnical, environmental, hydraulic, structural, and contractual risks.
- Lead cross-discipline collaboration to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage project budgets, programmes, resource allocation, and ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing coastal and marine engineering team.
- Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) registration with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent recognised body.
- Minimum 15 years of consultancy experience in coastal and marine civil engineering.
- MSc and/or PhD in Coastal/Marine Engineering, Oceanography, Hydrodynamics, or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrable track record of leading large, technically complex coastal or marine engineering projects, including wave modelling, numerical modelling, wave-structure interactions, port and harbour works, breakwaters, sea-walls, revetments, and beach/foreshore works.
- Advanced technical experience in hydrodynamics, wave/wind/tide forcing, sediment transport, coastal processes, and modelling frameworks.
- Proven leadership, staff development, mentoring, and business development skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage with senior clients, stakeholders, and present at conferences.
- Strong commercial acumen, ability to manage budgets, resource utilisation, risk, and opportunities.
