Description

East Sussex County Council are excited to announce the launch of our new Connected Families Service; for families with children aged 11-17 who are on the edge of care.

The Connected Families Service will bring together Intensive Support Practitioners, Connected Coaches, a Multi-Systemic Therapy Team, and allied professionals to enable proactive, tailored support for families at their point of need.

We are looking to recruit adaptable, highly motivated, skilled individuals with a range of professional expertise to be part of our MST Team.

Whether your background is in Health, Education or Social Care, you will have a relevant professional qualification and significant experience of working with families facing complex challenges.

We will provide you with ongoing training and support through MST UK to enable you to deliver the programme.

We know that families' needs do not fit into a neat 9-5 bubble, so this post will include working flexibly across some evenings and weekends, including being part of a 24/7 cover rota.

In return you will be part of a supportive, multi-agency team, working flexible hours to bring about meaningful change for families whilst benefitting from both peer and clinical consultation.

Multi-Systemic therapy (MST) is an intensive family and community based intervention for children and young people aged 11-17, where young people are at risk of entering care due to their offending or having severe behaviour problems.

The aim of MST is to break the cycle of anti-social behaviours by keeping young people safely at home, in school, and out of trouble.

As an MST Therapist you will bring your professional discipline/experience to the team; you will hold a small caseload of complex cases working intensively and flexibly with families.

You will deliver the most appropriate MST intervention (e.g. behavioural therapy, CBT, family therapy) utilising the MST model and analytical process.

You will have a particular affinity for working with young people aged 11-17, a belief that most families can be supported to stick together and that all young people have the right to a great future.

Based in Eastbourne, and sitting within the wider Connected Families Service, the MST Team will offer a countywide service. It is essential that you are able to meet both the travel and remote working requirements of this role.

You will work intensively with families in their homes and communities to enhance relationships, reduce the risk of entering care, target anti-social behaviour and increase engagement with education and positive activities.

You will receive regular group supervision and individual clinical/line management support from the MST Supervisor to develop you as a professional and share learning and best practice.

MST-UK provides external orientation training and ongoing regular booster training.
