Ocean Infinity is seeking a
Buyer/Expeditor to primarily execute Procurement support to its stakeholders in our Enterprise IT team. The role is intended to primarily support this global IT team but also for our Armada vessel fleet.

The Buyer/Expeditor shall also help direct and drive strategic sourcing projects and support the implementation of sourcing results in the category but also within the organization where required.

What will you do:


  • Manage procurement activities primarily in the IT category, including: issue of POs to suppliers, Identifying and onboarding new suppliers, conduct RFQ/RFP's, overview T&C's where OI ones are not engaged, negotiate with suppliers where appropriate, identify cost savings and rebates where appropriate and investigating innovative products to the business stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine IT procurement needs and priorities, and make recommendations for costeffective solutions;
  • Maintaining IT equipment asset data;
  • Control of expediting process and tracking orders working with our logistics partners to ensure ontime delivery is met;
  • Lead or support the Head of Procurement in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales;
  • Foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders and our supply partners;
  • Work with consuming department to identify, assess, evaluate, and audit relevant suppliers;
  • Support tender activities to ensure relevant subcontractor agreements;
  • Monitor and follow up on contractual compliance;
  • Work proactively with cost reductions for purchased services and products;
  • Review purchase requisitions and identify sources of supply;
  • Advise internal stakeholders on modifications/alternatives, procurement issues and provide support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle;
  • Advise stakeholders of modifications from original requests (if alternative, more cost efficient, or otherwise beneficial alternatives exist) ;
  • Select contract/supplier compliant with requisition in accordance with defined strategy and agreements;
  • Participate as required in global and regional strategic sourcing projects;
  • Track relevant performance indicators on supplier and internal stakeholder contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve;

Who you are:


  • An understanding of IT hardware/software and maintenance/ support services;
  • Knowledgeable of procurement best practices, aligned to deliver against the procurement policy;
  • 25 years in a procurement related position;
  • Experience in sourcing / working with external suppliers, preferably within the IT and/or offshore/marine industry;
  • Understanding of quality management such as standards, regulations and applicable policies and procedures;
  • Previous experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong negotiating and assertive decision making skills;
  • Highly selfmotivated & directed, with a keen attention to detail;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fastpaced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills;
  • Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team;
  • Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
  • Integrity, credibility, and maturity for confidential issues;

Desirable:


  • Previous purchasing experience within IT category;
  • Familiarity with ITrelated regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards;
