Trustee Vacancy


Starter Packs Glasgow Board of Trustees wishes to appoint an

additional three Trustees to oversee the strategic development

of the charity as it moves into its next phase. (Please note these

roles are on a voluntary/unpaid basis).

areas:

• Finance/Accounting (Tax/VAT)
• Legal charity, employment and/or commercial Law
• Grant writing/funding/fundraising
• Volunteering or entrepreneurial skills

In addition to monitoring the charity's governing work with volunteers and members, successful

supporting those in poverty, homeless or people at risk.

Who are we?

• Starter Packs Glasgow's core mission is to provide starter pack bedding, crockery, towels, small

electrical items and furniture (etc.) to new tenants (who do not have access to these basic

household essentials), mostly via Housing Association referral schemes but also via our

network of partners including other charities and support services.

• The packs are made up of a mixture of new and donated items, according to the specification

of the referring partner and availability of suitable donations.

• Referral partners make a contribution to each starter pack, however this does not cover the

full cost of the pack. In order to help fund these shortfalls, SPG runs two charity shops, _The_

• Magpie's Eye _and _The Magpie's Nest_, both located on Burleigh Street, Govan, Glasgow and

actively fundraise throughout the year.

Application

The board meet on a regular and fairly informal basis usually once a month in the evening [6-8pm]

and there may be additional support required for team events on an ad hoc basis.
