Are you an experienced Transport Planner, looking for a new opportunity that offers genuine opportunity for career progression ?

Would you like to work for an International Logistics business, with a considerable UK network ?


Our client is looking for an additional person to join its existing team, ideally with a background in container haulage.


The position is full time and permanent.

  • Shift. 8 hour days, between 6am and 7pm, overtime available as and when required.
  • Salary of bewteen £30,000 to £38,000 depending on experience, plus overtime.
  • Applicants must have excellent knowledge of road transport planning operations as well as drivers' hours and tachograph rules. A solid geographical knowledge of the UK is required.

The main duties of the role are:

  • To ensure that customer deliveries are planned in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • To effectively utilise drivers, vehicles and subcontractors; liaising and taking into consideration all company sites when doing so.
  • Ensure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all personnel, especially drivers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that Drivers are supplied with appropriate delivery documentation.
  • To be aware of driver status in respect of delays or holdups; to monitor and track customer deliveries and KPIs to ensure service level agreements and delivery on time are achieved.
  • Responsible for the input and maintenance of the traffic management system with accuracy of detail to allow for accurate invoicing processes.
  • To allocate work in accordance with current Operating Licence legislation, and ensure all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time meeting compliance requirements.
  • Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a professional, timely and competent manner
  • Undertake any additional tasks when requested to support the Senior Management team on site

Experience:


  • Transport planning: 2 year (essential)
  • Container haulage: 1 year (preferred)
  • CPC : (preferred)
