Product Owner - Windows

As a Barclays Product Owner - Windows, you be responsible for defining and designing the engineering strategy for the banks windows operating systems and device management platforms.

You will work with Project Managers and Global Technology Sourcing to advise on supplier and cost options, and to ensure that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof-of-concept solutions.

What will you be doing?:


  • Acting as a Product Owner for the bank's Windows desktop OS & Endpoint management tooling
  • Designing effective technology solutions and Stage 0 costs that can be integrated into the estate and deployed globally across the group
  • Ensuring that solutions are documented effectively, and that the product architecture vision is kept up to date
  • Owning highlevel design documentation, defining business outcomes, and providing support and governance to engineers producing lowlevel designs
  • Championing "secure by design" across engineering teams, ensuring that products are foundationally secure and fully monitored
  • Planning and coordinate engineering and testing activities as product owner within your domain
  • Establishing agile release schedules to meet business objectives and technology needs in the Windows desktop OS & Endpoint management tooling

What we're looking for:


  • Experience in designing and implementing Windows desktop OS & Endpoint management tooling, including Microsoft Azure, Autopilot, Active Directory, Intune, MECM, etc
  • Experienced scripting skills with a proven background such as PowerShell and Python
  • Experience managing a 3+ team of engineers, specifically delivering technical solutions
  • Experience of automated delivery pipelines, specifically CI/CD

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • The ability to manage any risk and compliance issues with relation to all production hardware (Tracking Pen Test Results and remediation)
  • The ability to be a solid technical author, able to produce excellent documentation and diagrams using tools such as Confluence and MS Visio
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to problem solve and to transfer skills plus knowledge to other team members
  • The ability to understand technical jargon and communicate it in a clear way so that all stakeholders in the wider business can understand technical concepts

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.

The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
