The Role
Family safeguarding sees specialist adult-focused practitioners - with expertise substance misuse - integrated within children's safeguarding teams.
This exciting and rewarding role will provide you with significant scope for growth and innovation within WDP.
This exciting and rewarding new senior role will provide you with the opportunity to be part of this integrated team, carrying a reduced specialist caseload whilst also providing support, advise and oversight to your colleagues in the wider WDP West Berkshire Service in safeguarding caseloads and matters.
The role will involve:
Open Access Services and Harm Reduction
- Providing expert advice and information and training to the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing advice and information to parents/service users.
- Provide harm reduction triage assessment, motivational interviewing and brief and extended interventions.
Structured Programme for Substance Misuse
The child and family substance misuse workers refer those who require structured treatment into the main pathways within WDP West Berkshire
Recovery Support
Recovery focused, mutual aid, peer mentors and ongoing recovery activities have been identified as fundamental to building recovery capital and supporting a client's recovery journey.
Supervisory responsibilities
Proving line management, support, advise and guidance to an internal teams of safeguarding practitioners and acting as named safeguarding lead for WDP West Berkshire Service.
- Friday 9am until 5pm, but there may be some occasional out of hours work which would be considered on a rota basis
Location
1 Station Road, Newbury, RG14 7LP (the role will involve some peripatetic working, outreach and co-location within the Family Safeguarding Team 6 West St, Newbury RG14 1BD)
