PROJECT MANAGER

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

As a member of the Change and Portfolio function, the postholder will work closely with colleagues across the Commission, including Senior Reporting Officers and Project Boards.

The postholder will have accountability and primary responsibility for the successfuldelivery of project outcomes encompassing time, costs, scope, and quality - utilising appropriate agile or waterfall methods.

You will manage resources, deliverables, risks, and dependencies ensuring their projects are supported with appropriate capacity and skills to achieve successful outcomes - also, providing project transparency and accurate reporting.

What will you be doing?

Leading project teams to deliver successful outputs. You will ensure teams are empowered to produce high quality services, following best practices and to Commission standards. You will be primarily responsible for the timely and on-costdelivery of projects from initiation through to evaluation and close.

Stakeholder management and engagement. You will take responsibility and collaborate with technical leaders across the wider organisation to improve services, products, practices, standards, project delivery, performance, and team culture.

Managing resources and competing demands. You will deliver change and projects with empathy and understanding for the wider needs and competing priorities of the business. You will ensure appropriate project resourcing and proportionateresource requirements on the wider business.

Project Planning, Management and Reporting. You will use your existing knowledge and experience of waterfall and agile methods to recommend the best approach for project delivery (technical or non-technical). You will attend and presentmaterials to the relevant governance and assurance boards - providing project transparency and accurate reporting.

Someone who can communicate effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries, understanding the context and sensitivities required for each.
Someone who can ensure delivery momentum by solving issues and unblocking problems. Drive teams and set the pace, ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments.
Qualified Waterfall Project Manager (Prince2 or equivalent) OR Qualified Agile Project Manager (DSDM, Scrum or equivalent.
