Baking and Pastry Preparation: Prepare a wide range of bread, pastries, and other baked goods according to standard recipes or custom orders. This includes mixing dough, cutting, and shaping dough, and preparing fillings.

Recipe Development and Modification: Develop new recipes and modify existing ones to meet dietary needs or to introduce new products to the menu.

Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the ingredients is up to standard, including freshness and suitability for use. Monitor the baking process to ensure the final products meet quality standards.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and place orders as needed. Ensure proper storage of ingredients to maintain freshness and comply with food safety standards.

Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and hygienic work area, adhering to health and safety standards to prevent food contamination.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery of baked goods.

Customer Service: May involve direct interaction with customers, taking orders, and providing recommendations.

Product Display and Presentation: Arrange baked goods attractively in display cases or packaging for sale.

Continual Learning: Stay updated with the latest baking techniques, trends, and health codes.

Education: A diploma from a culinary school is preferred, but not always required. On-the-job training or an apprenticeship may be sufficient.

Salary:
£18,600.00-£21,600.00 per year
