The Capital Oversight Senior Manager role sits within the Enterprise Risk function and reports directly to the Head of Department.

The role is accountable for the review and oversight of Santander UK end to end capital calculation, capital position, the associatedreporting processes and ensuring alignment to relevant capital regulation and market best practices at both a strategic and practical level.

The role will work with the Head of Department to define improvements in the control framework and oversight model and provide robust review and challenge to present a thorough understanding the capital position and the material underlying movements in keycapital metrics, escalating instances of non-compliance appropriately.

This role also involves considerable coordination and liaison with teams in other areas in the Risk Division as well as the CFO Division, Regulatory Liaison, other relevant Business units within the UK and the wider Santander Group in Europe and frequent interactionwith senior decision makers.


The difference you'll make

  • Reviewing and overseeing that the Group's end to end capital calculation and reporting processes adhere to all relevant regulation, supervisory expectations, and market best practices, with a forwardlooking approach.
  • Providing oversight and understanding of material underlying movements in key capital metrics and outputs.
  • Ensuring processes are in place to demonstrate adherence to capital regulation, with documentation demonstrating how regulation is met, with supporting evidence, certifications and / or testing.
  • Escalating instances of noncompliance with regulation appropriately.
  • Providing challenge on the interpretation of regulation as relevant.
  • Defining improvements in the control framework and oversight model for the endtoend capital calculation and reporting processes, including due consideration of how these are impacted by change management

What you'll bring
:


  • Broad and deep understanding of International Regulatory Capital Frameworks (Basel II, III, CRD IV, CRD V, CRR, IFRS9, etc.) and ability to link regulation to components of the endtoend capital calculation and reporting process.
  • Proven understanding of the UK regulatory environment for capital calculation and reporting processes and associated controls

It would also be nice for you to have:


  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage with senior decision makers, in a confident, articulate, structured and coherent manner.
