The Communications, Engagement & Involvement Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative support to the team and will be key in facilitating the efficient administration and delivery of the team functions on a day-to-day basis.

The postholder will have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Undertake a range of administrative duties, including photocopying, printing and managing incoming and outgoing post and parcels.
  • Work with other Support and Delivery Centre administrators to provide an effective service across the organisation, dealing with visitors and being flexible to cover other administrators' general duties as coordinated by the Office Manager.
  • Contribute as appropriate to other duties by mutual agreement with line manager.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure cooperation with the Communications, Engagement & Involvement team.
  • Contribute to the effective communications of the Support and Delivery Centre, for example by coordinating and/or providing information for newsletters or web materialTHIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING


If you are an internal applicant this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.


  • Provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the Communications, Engagement & Involvement team and establish and maintain good working relationships across the team.
  • Communicate in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
  • Respond to a wide range of queries, which can be complex and contentious, relating to the work of the team. Empathetic and reassurance skills are required to acknowledge the importance of issues raised and ensure queries are acted upon and/or passed on to the relevant team member swiftly and autonomously.
  • Receive and deal with incoming telephone calls in a polite and professional manner, using initiative to deal with queries and provide information where appropriate.

TheHealth and Care Research WalesSupport & Delivery Centre is hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board which is one of Wales's seven health boards, and funded by Welsh Government.

Our headquarters is in Cardiff but we have offices across Wales.

The post holder will have a base in one of the Cardiff, Brecon or Bangor offices (confirmed on recruitment) but will also be able to work from home.
