We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic Health & Safety Consultant, to grow their career in our busy H&S team, within our multi-disciplinary award winning consultancy.
Person Specification:
As a H&S Consultant, You should have strong technical knowledge, good communication skills and have a clear understanding of CDM 2015 and health and safety legislation and the requirements of the impending Building Safety Bill.
You will be a team playerwho will be able to demonstrate an ability to work with the minimum of supervision, be dedicated, enthusiastic and should pay attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfil the requirements within the role as prescribed under CDM 2015;
- Provide advice and assist clients in discharging their duties under CDM 2015;
- Provide advice and assistance to clients in respect of the corporate health and safety obligations;
- Provide general health and safety consultancy services;
- Carry out construction site and workplace H&S inspections;
- Report Writing and administration in connection with the above;
- Support and assist the business in undertaking their health and safety related duties;
- Follow company procedures and documentation in relation to the carrying out of the role;
- Maintain training records in accordance with company procedures and continual professional development;
- Update management monthly on the status of portfolio of schemes, including fees;
- Attend group meetings.
Essential Criteria:
You will be qualified or working towards technical membership of IOSH, full membership of IIRSM and a registered member of APS as well as maintaining technical knowledge and developing your competency through experience, continued training and CPD.
Main Duties:
On a regular basis, You will review the status of projects with the aim of discharging duties under the regulations, including:
- Services relating to the role of Principal Designer, Principal Designer Advisor and Client CDM Advisor role
- Liaison with the client in assisting with discharging health and safety duties;
- Assist the Client in identifying information towards the development of the Pre-Construction Information;
- Where requested, review the contents of the Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan and formal advise;
- Where requested, carry out competency checks on appointees on behalf of the Client and formally advise;
- Monitor the progression of projects and administrate as required;
- Update project Milestones and transfer project related communications into the Plexus system;
- Follow company protocols and procedures in the conduct of work within this role;
- Agree, format and timescale for handover of the Health & Safety File on all projects;
- Carry out DSE and Manual Handling Assessments, and general consultancy where requested;
- Assist in the production of health and safety procedures for the company when requested;
- Support the business generally in maintaining Company Health & Safety procedures and protocol.
