Category Specialist (Indirects, Business Services)
Open to multiple locations (Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Madrid & Budapest)
6 Month Secondment

About this role
Diageo Global Procurement is accountable for the Procurement of Supply, Demand and Indirect categories.
The vision of the Procurement function is to "Boldly drive improved operating margin and competitive advantage by leading cost consciousness and best in class procurement through a successful organisation." This includes delivery of significant savings, great supplier management, taking category strategy planning to the next level, enabling required shifts in approach to maximise the effectiveness of suppliers, and harnessing the full spectrum of opportunities.
As Category Specialist you will:
- Deliver financial and nonfinancial targets
- Deploy European/Global category strategies
- Drive excellence benefits through sourcing, demand management, supplier relationship management, supplier development and supplier innovation.
- Produce demand management techniques in order to avoid wastage and pursue best in class spend practices to assist Diageo's Productivity Team & Initiative
- Key collaboration with business partners ensuring full engagement
- Promote the highest standards of compliance consistency
- Manage PO Approvals and the Source to Pay Agenda for the categories
- Operate as the main point of contact for the Tactical Procurement Team to ensure alignment with driving category strategy
To be successful in role you will have a drive to influence and handle senior partners, budget holders and driving cross-border teams within a complex matrix organisation.
You will have demonstrated commercial competence with a proven track record of consistent performance and delivery as well as the ability to build effective Supplier and internal relationships.
Procurement experience is beneficial, but we really seek an individual with real passion to learn about this exciting part of the business where no day is the same and have limitless exposure to many parts of the business.
