In order to be considered for the position, this individual will have to have previous experience working with young people who have challenging behaviour.

The role - Behaviour Mentor - Harrow


Your role as a Behaviour Mentor involves working closely with students who have been identified as having challenging behaviours or who have SEMH needs in order to support them.

Depending on the needs of the identified students, you may be working one-on-one or in small groups.

Usually, Behaviour Mentors work in a small number of classrooms and support or run interventions that are designed to support students in a variety of ways.

It is the role of the behaviour mentor to draw up action plans and targets in collaboration with the class teacher and other members of the behaviour team.

As a result, these targets will be based on improving their behaviour as well as improving their academic performance.

Providing direct support to pupils and working with them directly on the development of their self-esteem and confidence in an attempt to improve their confidence and personal skills as well as improving their self-esteem.

It is also important to monitor progress in improving behaviour and to maintain improvements that have already been made.

The SLT team will support you and there are many opportunities for you to grow and develop in your career, such as becoming a behaviour manager or a pastoral manager, for example.


Ideal behaviour mentor
