Description
Our client based in Hoddesdon is recruiting a skilled Sewing Machinist on a 12 week temporary to permanent basis. You will be working as part of their busy team on a production line producing high end leather goods. The hours for this role will be 7.30am

  • 4.15 pm Monday Thursday and 7.30am 1.30pm Friday. The hourly rate for a Sewing Machine Operator is £11 £12 per hour, depending on experience.

This will see you rise through the ranks from Craftsperson to Senior Craftsperson, to our highly prestigious Master Craftsperson role.


  • Must have significant sewing machine experience
  • Be able to stich a variety of fabrics
  • Can stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining
  • Ideally be able to stitch leather belts & leather handle chapes
  • Work to the required highquality standards
  • Work well under pressure
  • Keen to learn
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to work to deadlines
The key requirements for this role are as follows:

  • Using the leather stitching machine: Durkopp Adler
  • Need to possess the ability to stitch leather belts.
  • Must be able to stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining.
  • Need to be able to stitch leather handle chapes.
  • Needs to be able to stitch a variety of fabrics for drop in linings.
  • Need to possess good knowledge of construction techniques.
