This is an exciting opportunity to work on the newly created Digital Policing Programme, delivering on the replacement of PoliceWorks, a new strategic data store and existing iOPS products.


Key Functions of the role will be:

  • Direct responsibility for the day to day governance support to the Programme and maintenance of a robust governance framework ensuring alignment with corporate processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring that programme and project plans and schedules exist across the portfolio and are scalable, in terms of planned milestones and activity, according to the specific complexity and risk of each programme or project.
  • Lead and develop Business Benefits Realisation work on behalf of the Portfolio Director / Head of Change.
  • To provide consultancy and advice, and assist with the planning, coordination, implementation and analysis of benefits during the lifecycle of the programmes and projects.
  • Define and maintain programme and project assurance across programmes and projects throughout the Change Control Process.
  • Attend Programme and Project Boards and through interpretation and understanding of complex discussion, record accurate actions and decisions. Ensure approval off relevant manager prior to circulating to attendees and / or their delegates.
  • To analyse risks and issues across the portfolio of programmes and projects for trends and / or themes, update and maintain the portfolio risk register and report to the Portfolio Assurance Manager. Discuss with the Programme Managers and adjust if required.
  • Assist the Programme Manager(s) in the development and implementation of internal project assurance that meets the needs of the Force, and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance to standard reporting processes, such as Programme board highlight reporting through provision of support to Programme Managers, Senior Change Delivery Managers and Change Delivery Managers.
  • Ensure the use of Sharepoint as document storage for all governance related items and that stakeholders have access.
