Freightserve recruitment are looking for an experienced Sales Account Manager for a well-established Freight company based in the East Midlands area.

The company will allow the person to work from home or from their office in East Midlands if preferred.


Job role:

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Account Manager to contribute in generating and maintaining sales for our company. You will be responsible for closing sales deals in person with clients and maintaining good customer relationships.
An effective Senior Account Manager must be an excellent communicator and have outstanding people skills. They must be comfortable presenting products or services as well as dealing with complaints

The goal is to help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing business.

Responsibilities - Including but not limited to

  • Meet and exceed agreed sales and gross margin targets consistently
  • Generate new business
  • Generate additional opportunities and grow an existing portfolio of clients
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence in negotiating and closing sales with a deep appreciation for the variances in time scales and industry influences
  • Manage, develop and maintain sales plans and processes within designated area of responsibility within the business
  • Weekly and monthly reporting on sales forecasts
  • Keep up to date on all the services and how potential clients will benefit from these
  • Help support and provide all necessary information to the Marketing department and continually work to gain insight of competitors and emerging trends and affects.
Person Specification

  • Proven ability to communicate, sell and close business at all levels from Departmental Management to Board Level.
Management background and ideally selling into a similar market.

  • The position does require a level of travel as you will be expected to visit clients as well as spending time in the head office.
  • Consultative approach to work
  • Flexible personality thriving in fast moving business environment, and able to support colleagues with their work at short notice
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to priorities
  • High level of accuracy
  • Establish a strong understanding of our products and market position
  • 5 Year checkable work history, with no unaccountable gaps.
  • Subject to Basic DBS check
Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Courier or Freiht experience
  • Experience with working towards targets
  • Experience of working within a sales environment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office mainly excel
  • Full clean valid car driving licence

Please note this role is new business sales with a month/3 month rolling target and also a territory growth target
The role offers a excellent basic salary along with commission, car allowance (£5400 per annum or company car) and mobile phone
