Full time 37.5hrs per week
Working Pattern-Monday-Friday
Salary £21,255 plus £4000 London allowance pro Rata
Location-Haringey

You will act as an initial point of reference on the phone, or in an office area as required as well as provide Community based support to clients in their homes and as part of a team.


You will carry out day to day office administrative functions to ensure that all records and files are maintained and held securely, and that the confidentiality of information is upheld.

**So, who are you?
Essentially you will have experience of working with vulnerable client groups.

And be able to demonstrate IT Skills to include a basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel as well as a willingness to learn specific IT systems used within Care and Support; and complete relevant IT training where required.

Job Purpose


The Community Assistant is responsible for assisting in the provision of a support service for Riverside's vulnerable clients and with day to day delivery of support services to clients in their own homes across a defined geographical area whilst ensuring a professional and supporti ve approach is maintained at all times.

Accountabilities or "What You Have to D o"

  • Provide community based support to clients in their own homes, as part of a team.
  • Act as an initial point of reference on the phone, or in an office area as required


Carry out day to day office administrative functions to ensure that all records and files are maintained and held securely and that the confidentiality of information is upheld.


  • Have an awareness of the clients support needs, working, under direction, supp orting clients to help them achieve their agreed outcomes.
  • Contribute to the formulation and delivery of person centred support plans.
  • Assisting clients with day to day support and tenancy issues, sign posting to the appropriate agencies.
  • Promote and encou rage a high level of client involvement, consultation and communication
- . Using IT systems appropriately including adding updates on the Support Database.

  • Advise management promptly of any signs of problems or concerns about a client.
  • Recognise signs of d istress in clients and identifies ways to reduce this.
  • To correspond and liaise as necessary with external agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Follow all health and safety and lone working procedures, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Report any issues of anti soci al behaviour to a senior staff member
