Band 7 Practice Educator

  • ICU 6 Month Secondment initially with the potential to move to a permanent position.


We are looking for an experienced critical care nurse who is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with proven facilitation and leadership qualities to join our practice education team.

We recognise that education and leadership positively influence the quality of patient care.


If you have excellent communication and teaching skills, experience of change management and enjoy helping staff develop their skills, knowledge and confidence you could be the person we are looking for.


Working in partnership with the Matron and Lead Nurses you will help to develop, lead and implement the education strategy for the Intensive Care Unit.


To work as an expert practitioner who is responsible for the delivery of patient focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and well being needs of critically ill patients and their families.

The post holder displays excellent communication and leadership skills, and is responsible for the day-to-day line management of the team for which he / she is responsible.

The post holder will work primarily as a Practice Educator in Critical care, whilst maintaining skills in a clinical role within the intensive care unit
