Job Title:
Digital Communications Officer


Due to a member of the team leaving, NSA is looking for a replacement Digital Communications Officer to start as soon as possible on a permanent, full-time contract.


Job overview:
NSA is a membership charity supporting and promoting sheep farming in the UK.

This role is to develop and expand NSA's online presence, ensuring web-based, social media and digital campaign activity continues to raise the profile of the organisation to all audiences.

As well as providing a service to existing members, the role includes marketing of NSA membership subscriptions and running campaigns for membership recruitment/retention purposes.


Job summary

  • Deliver online and social media activity, campaigns and events
  • Deliver the NSA online presence, including generating and updating content across all NSA websites and social media platforms. This will include being the lead admin on the website CMS, creating images, videos, infographics and other promotional material where appropriate, and generally working with and adding value to the NSA brand.
  • Deliver the online element of membership recruitment/retention work, data capture and Gift Aid campaigns. This will include identifying people to target from the membership CRM, designing and distributing campaigns, and monitoring their effectiveness. It will also include contributing to monthly membership meetings and delivering projects identified.
  • Promote and provide technical support for online events. This includes webinars, sheep worrying by dogs awareness raising work and Love Lamb Week activities.
  • Support NSA events and activities through online presence and promotion. This includes NSA sheep events, ram sales, NSA Next Generation activities and regional activities.
  • Use reports and analytics from various sources to monitor and develop NSA's online presence and activities.
  • Support for commercial activities
  • Promote advertising, sponsorship and other commercial opportunities.
  • Deliver digital aspects of commercial agreements and other partnerships.
  • Other duties as agreed.

Desired skills

  • Experience with website content management systems (CMS) and confidence posting content on social media platforms is essential.
  • Creativity and an eye for design detail is essential, plus experience with Canva, Photoshop or similar.
  • Excellent written communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of livestock farming is desirable, but not essential. The priority is being able to pitch online content appropriately for our sheep farming audience.

£23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
