We have an ongoing vacancy for Support Worker experienced with children in Newport, Cardiff, Pontypridd and Vale of Glamorgan.

The start date is ASAP (after completion of registration) and the assignments are ongoing.

We are supporting our Client who are a group of registered homes located across the south Wales area with their staff vacancies for Support Worker to make a positive impact on the lives of the young people in their care.

The children you will be supporting are 8-18 years of age and have a range of complex needs, which may include emotional and behavioural difficulties.

You will be in a team of qualified care givers and clinicians in well maintained homes with - 6 young people in each project.

The role involves being involved in all aspects of the young people's lives e.g.

household duties, transportation, accurate record keeping, arranging activities and supporting hobbies, supporting the development and the mental wellbeing of the children in care.

Also transporting the young people to access different provisions e.g. accessing education, ensuring household duties are completed, discussing and arranging days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming), offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives and 1:1 support managing extremely challenging behaviour.

There is a flexibility with regard to the shifts which will be earlies, lates, nights and sleep overs.

Requirements.

Must hold a full UK driving licence
Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent - desirable
12 months experience working in a residential setting - desirable
