Overview:
To provide administrative support for all areas of the Debt Recovery Team.

As a Collections Officer, you will play a crucial role in our agency's debt recovery process, working within the framework of FCA regulations to effectively manage and collect outstanding debts on behalf of our clients.

You will be responsible for engaging with debtors, negotiating repayment arrangements, and maintaining accurate records of all interactions.


Responsibilities:

Compliance: Ensure all collections activities adhere to FCA regulations and internal compliance policies.

Negotiation: Utilize effective negotiation skills to secure repayment agreements that are feasible for debtors and acceptable to our clients.

Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all communication with debtors, payment arrangements, and account updates.

Reporting: Generate regular reports on collection activities, account statuses, and progress towards recovery targets.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies to enhance collections strategies and performance.


Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in debt collection or a related field, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with debtors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of FCA & TCF regulations and compliance requirements related to debt collection.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct in all interactions.
