Job Description:

This exciting role within AECOM's Economic Development Team will have a dual focus.


There will be an opportunity to work on a major national significant energy project which is currently under construction in London.

AECOM's Economic Development Team are responsible for leading on the delivery of the project's social value programme which focuses on providing employment and skills opportunities for local communities and also the delivery of an award winning schools programme and an expansive community projects initiative.

This role will involve overseeing social value being delivered by contractors to ascertain progress towards targets as well as working closely with the client (a local authority) to report back on progress.


This position will also involve working on a wide range of socio-economic related studies including socio-economic research, socio-economic impact assessments, health impact assessments, population & health assessments and regeneration statements to support the consenting of mixed-use and infrastructure schemes.


Responsibilities:


  • Assisting the AECOM Social Value Lead in the delivery of a strategy and associated action plan which brings benefits to local communities, particularly focused upon underrepresented groups;
  • Working collaboratively to deliver a schools programme, both for primary and secondary schools, and to expand this to students outside of mainstream education;
  • Present the outcomes of the workstream to a wide variety of stakeholders, including contractors, local authority officers, other consultancies, internal teams and community groups;
  • Communicating progress through report writing, presentations and updates for different audiences;
  • Assistance with data monitoring and analysis;
  • Building effective relationships with contractors to ensure delivery of social value objectives, which are of maximum benefit to local communities;
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of a range of socioeconomic related studies including delivery of high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis and research;
  • Identifying socioeconomic related opportunities for the team and provide support on proposals and marketing related to this work area.

Requirements:


  • Experience of working in social value and/or socioeconomics work areas
  • A keen interest in social value and supporting outcomes for communities
  • Strong and effective communicator
  • An organised approach and work ethic
  • Proactive at engaging with the team and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills
  • Interest in undertaking research, quantitative and qualitative analysis
