We are looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Lead to join us at the Hemerdon Mine in Devon to help us restart this world class asset.


To be successful, you will need a relevant qualification in stakeholder engagement and/or demonstrable experience working in a stakeholder engagement or similar role.

You will also need significant experience of managing consultation events relating to large-scale or challenging projects, with the ability to act as advocate and regularly represent the company at public meetings.


Working at our unique and spectacular site, this fantastic role, reporting to the ESG Manager, will be focused on identifying, developing and maintaining positive relationships with target groups impacted by or interested in the Hemerdon Mine, with the ultimate aim of achieving the company's social licence to operate.

Responsibilities:


  • Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times.
  • Colead on the development and implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan alongside the Corporate Communications Lead, with oversight from the ESG Manager
  • Regularly liaise with the Executive Team to advise on stakeholder engagement strategy and intelligence that influences the company's approach to communications and decisionmaking
  • Create and implement all policies and procedures relating to stakeholder engagement activities including complaints and interactions
  • Develop and deliver training as required to ensure stakeholder engagement policies and procedures are embedded across the organisation
  • Oversee all complaints activities to resolution/conclusion in line with the policy, including logging, communication, monitoring and reporting

  • Develop and maintain the company's stakeholder register including an understanding of the issues important to individuals and groups through materiality assessments
  • Carry out surveys of stakeholders to gather intelligence
  • Analyse stakeholder data and map into useful intelligence that informs and influences the business and creates a better understanding of stakeholder groups
  • Oversee the organisation of the quarterly Technical Liaison Group and Local Liaison Group stakeholder meetings, including the attendance, maintenance of action logs and production of minutes
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the Community Investment Fund, working closely with the Corporate Communications Lead in the production of promotional materials, including an annual Community Investment Fund report
  • Oversee the maintenance of all relevant distribution lists and develop the 'Friends of Hemerdon' distribution list to enable enewsletters to be sent
  • Attend community events as required to positively develop local relations with surrounding community members and businesses, acting as Tungsten West's representative and advocate
  • Lead on the organisation of consultation events required by the business, working closely with relevant colleagues and the Corporate Communications Lead to produce supporting promotional and educational materials
  • Work with the Executive Assistant to identify and organise visits to the mine by stakeholder groups
  • Be 'plugged into' activities within surrounding communities and feed opportunities for joint working or volunteering by Tungsten West staff into the business
  • Lead all community relations activities, including sponsorship of events, teams and other such requests, working with the Corporate Communications Lead to secure positive PR
  • Monitor and report progress against the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and any specific stakeholder engagement targets to the Executive Team, Board and funders as required
  • Provide cover for the Corporate Communications Lead where required due to holiday, sickness or other absence
  • Any other stakeholder engagementrelated duties considered reasonable and required by the business

Skills & Qualifications:


Essentials:


  • A relevant qualification in stakeholder engagement and/or demonstrable experience working in a stakeholder engagement or similar role
  • Experience of managing consultation events relating to largescale or controversial projects
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • The ability to analyse stakeholder data and turn it into act
