Prestigious manufacturing business require a Senior Category Manager.

Applicants should have familiarity with a technical or niche (direct) supply chain, excellent SRM skills, commercial acumen and a collaborative mindset.

This position offers a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000, plus a car allowance, significant bonus potential and private medical.

The Senior Category Manager will work in a team of Category Managers, reporting into a Head of Procurement. The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for a niche supplier pool.

These suppliers are typically global (Europe, Far East, South America)as opposed to UK based, and the Senior Category Manager will be responsible for forging deep and robust relationships with them.

This is an exciting end-to-end procurement role in which the Senior Category Manager will source/select supply partners, whilst also being responsible for post-signature supplier relationship management activities.

The Senior Category Manager will have no direct reports and handle a spend of c£50m. This is a direct procurement spend category.

Specific duties of the Senior Category Manager include:

Ownership of procurement strategy across assigned category areas of spend
design, develop, execute
Supply selection and supply market intelligence activities
Supplier Relationship Management drive collaboration, innovation and partnerships
Contract management and flowdown of customer T&Cs into supplier agreements
Stakeholder management ensure supply chain reflects business needs

Senior Category Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience with niche supply chains, or complex supplier relationship management
Experience with direct category/procurement spend, within manufacturing or engineering
The ability to immerse yourself in a category, own and drive strategy
Excellent relationship building skills supplier, customer, stakeholder
Strategic procurement toolkit
Broad commercial acumen views self as a commercial person within their respective industry
