Purpose of the Job:


As a Technical Bid Writer at PET-Xi, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling and successful bids for projects, contracts, and partnerships within the education sector.

Your primary objective will be to articulate our strengths, capabilities, and unique offerings to secure new business opportunities.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather information and insights required for bid responses.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), tenders, and other bid opportunities.
  • Ensure all proposals align with the organisation's values, goals, and client requirements.
  • Conduct thorough research on potential clients, competitors, and industry trends to inform bid strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard content, including boilerplate language, case studies, and credentials, to streamline future proposal development.
  • Coordinate internal review processes to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with bid requirements.
  • Manage the endtoend bid process, ensuring that proposals are submitted on time and in accordance with all specified requirements.
  • Proactively seek feedback on proposals to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to increase the overall effectiveness of the bid process.
  • Complete responses to Prequalification, Tender, Approved List and RFI (Request for Information) tender documents from prospective customers.
  • Contribute material to tender information library.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Working closely with the procurement team.
  • Proofread responses for accuracy.
  • Liaise with Procurement Project Manager to ensure an active log of all tender opportunities and the response progress.
  • Build working relationships with wider leadership team.
  • Supporting the documentation of bid strategy, differentiators, win themes, key messages and content for proposals and presentations.
  • Occasionally visiting operational sites and other offices and gathering information from other stakeholders as required/necessary.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance and improve the process, whilst obtaining and sharing best practice with the team.
  • Undertaking research to improve bid content.
  • Reviewing bid submissions for quality and accuracy
  • Provide a skilled analysis of tender questions, providing understanding of exactly what the buyer is asking for.

Person Specification:


  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer or in a similar role.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  • Detailoriented with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with the education sector.
  • A positive attitude and resilience.
