The starting salary for this position is
£46,634 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

The base location for this position is Woking, however we work in a
hybrid style and will generally be in the office a maximum of four times per month for team meetings.

Outside of this, you can work wherever you feel most productive

The Commissioning division within the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate is driving
change and innovation with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for the children, young people and families of Surrey.

At the heart of what we aim to achieve is developing a deeper understanding of our communities, the challenges they face, their strengths, assets, and aspirations, so we can work with them to remove as many obstacles as possible.

To gain the understanding needed to achieve this objective, our Commissioning service has an
Analysis and Evaluation team.

We work to provide Commissioners with the knowledge they require to make informed, evidence-based decisions, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative data.

We look at national and international best practiceand trends, and foster innovation to make sure Commissioning is
future-focussed.

We're currently working on a variety of exciting projects, with the portfolio of work including issues in the areas of Health and Wellbeing, SEND, Corporate Parenting,Early Help, Early Years and Education, and Support for Disabilities.

We're now looking for a
Senior Data Analyst with the technical knowledge, creativity and pragmatism to help us drive forward our ambition

The Role

As a Senior Data Analyst you will use your knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualisation to interpret quantitative data from large and complex datasets.

Using a range of business intelligence, statistical analysis and visualisation tools (i.e.,Excel, Tableau, FME, SQL, SSRS, R, Python)
you will make data accessible for the development of actionable insights and present data in high-impact visualisations.

An important aspect of this will be interpreting and identifying patterns fora range of audiences, helping them understand potential conclusions and opportunities.

Working closely with the Commissioning team, you will lead designated work to understand their business intelligence and analysis requirements, including what is needed to help improve the quality and timeliness of decisions, and better understand residentneed.

This will involve scoping, designing and maintaining designated reporting products (including dashboard and static reports).

About You

You may already have previous some experience and understanding of data within a Local Authority Services, NHS or third sector, but essential to this position is the technical knowledge, and your ability to problem-solve in new, complex, and sometimes ambiguous,environments, where both creativity and pragmatism are required.

We're looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with others, including our friendly and supportive colleagues.
