Theatre Services are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated member of staff to join our team of Level II Operating Department Support Workers within our TheatresThe role involves:
supporting clinical staff within the Operating Theatre environment to deliver a high quality service for the people of Walsall.
You will be required to rotate through the specialties below to gain knowledge and experience and work shift patterns including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Colorectal surgery
Orthopaedics / trauma
Breast surgery
Bariatric surgery
Obstetrics and gynaecology
ENT and paediatrics
Oral surgery
Urology
Training opportunities available include apprenticeship for ODP training, NVQ and many internal training opportunities.
You will need to want to work towards obtaining the clinical health care support (QCF level 2) qualification.
Math's & English at grade C/Level 2 and above are required for this post as there will be opportunities to progress your career in the future.

Training opportunities available including mandatory training within the hospitals own specialised manor learning centre which has state of the art skills stations.
Math's & English at grade C/Level 2 and above are required for this post as there will be opportunities to progress your career in the future.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic ODSW to join our team at Walsall.The Trust has recently gone through a multi million pound refurbishment in Theatres and Emergency departments.

Anticipate and prepare the theatres for use:
- Checking all equipment is in working order
- Assemble and attach all specialist equipment to operating tables, camera
- Prepare equipment prior to start of surgery undertaking routine checks
- Collect patients from wards, ensuring correct identity, patients records
recovery.
- Assisting in the transfer of patients from trolley to table and back, assisting in
