Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Responsibilities will include.
  • Create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs and fixtures, using measurements, specifications, and additional data from engineering team
  • Collect initial drawings (2D/3D or sketches), calculations, and design ideas from engineers, and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification
  • Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices
  • Annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary
  • Complying with Halliburton Best Practices and Design Guidelines
  • Maintain Project Files and facilitate project closure to agreed standards
  • Configuration management at all product levels
  • Keep current with advances in mechanical engineering
  • Perform Gatekeeper function with the Halliburton global Drafting and Data Tech resource pools
  • Support and participate in Mechanical Design Reviews
  • Create Product Support Documentation
  • Participate in the creation of new Intellectual Property (IP)

Required Skills (Technical Competency):


  • Must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
  • Oilfield electromechanical downhole products and systems (desirable)
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Engineering drawing creation and Geometric Tolerancing
  • Experience in liaising with an offshore drafting pool/resource and managing workload and deliverables (desirable)
  • Interpretation of technical information into clear and logical steps
  • SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Microsoft Office/Adobe Acrobat packages
  • Knowledge of API 14A, API 19V and API 11D1
    Regulatory Standards
    (desirable)

Desired Skills:


  • Requires an undergraduate degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline or equivalent experience (minimum of 6 years related experience preferred).
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:
  • Mechanical Engineering design principles
  • Documentation and configuration control principles
  • Understanding electromechanical downhole product design (desirable)
  • Ability to work within an API Q1/ISO 9001 design environment
  • Adhere to QHSE philosophy
